Award-Winning CAMRA Cider Pub with 9 Rooms, 2-Minute Walk from Windsor Castle

Pub & Cider Selection

The Windsor Trooper received the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead's CAMRA Real Cider Pub of the Year award in 2022 and 2023. The bar stocks 10 traditional ciders, along with a wide choice of Belgian beers, a fine wine selection, and a large batch of gins. Regular entertainment includes live music every Thursday and a quiz night on the last Wednesday of each month.

Rooms & Accommodations

The inn offers 9 rooms, all with private entrances, ensuite shower rooms, and toiletries. A dedicated family 2-bedroom apartment has its own kitchen amenities, though the layout is designed for families with young children rather than four adults. Each room includes tea and coffee making facilities and a TV.

Location & Nearby Attractions

The hotel sits in the residential part of Windsor, a short walk from the town centre and Windsor Castle. Guests can reach Windsor Great Park and Legoland Resort by a short drive or public transport. Paid parking is available nearby, and the inn does not offer bicycle storage.

Entertainment & Events

The pub hosts live music every Thursday evening and a quiz night on the final Wednesday of each month. A sun trap garden is available for guests to relax in during warmer weather. The property also has a function room available for private events and gatherings with a customizable setup.

Family-Friendly Accommodations

The family 2-bedroom apartment includes a kitchen for self-catering, making it suitable for families with young children. The beer garden closes at 10 pm, ensuring quiet hours after that for families with early bedtimes. A rotating schedule of food vendors, such as a pizza truck and a coffee cart offering pastries, is available on site.

Charming Stay Near the Castle

friendly staff good room room cleanliness separate entrance
The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. I liked the room size. It offered adequate space for luggage and movement. The cleanliness of the room was amazing. Check-in was simple. I could use a separate entrance from the pub, very convenient for late returns.
The staircase had a noticeable, heavy Febreze scent. I found the fragrance quite intense and somewhat overpowering.
